Recent Grants
At their recent meeting on 6 December, the Trustees of the Cattanach Charitable Trust awarded grants totalling £69,129 to 12 organisations across Scotland. The Trust has adopted a new theme, focussing on children under 10 and their families, but they recognised that the new theme was introduced only in October, and at this meeting they considered several applications under the old theme of community deprivation. Future meetings will consider only those applications which are eligible under the new theme.
The Trustees prefer to make grants which contribute significantly to projects, and on this occasion they made fewer, but larger, grants. The smallest grant was for £2,500, and this amount was given to Citylife in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh, First Step in Musselburgh and Tayside Association for the Deaf in Dundee. The largest grants were £10,000 to Barnardo's Hopscotch project in Angus, £13,000 to the Lilias Graham Trust in Stirlingshire, and £9,579 to Fairbridge in Scotland for their Dundee project. Other grants went to Home-Start Mid-Argyll, Jura, Islay and Kintyre, Partners in Advocacy and Reidvale Adventure Play Association in Glasgow, the Multi-Cultural Family Base in Leith, the Noonday Project in Irvine, and a women's aid project.
